The Friends of Dark Peak Music Trust

We all need friends ....

There are many ways we can all help to make our community better. In the Dark Peak Music Trust we are determined to ensure that, whatever the future holds in public funding for the arts, this invaluable opportunity to grow up in a musically vibrant environment continues to flourish.

The Friends of the Dark Peak Music Trust include present members of ensembles and their families, past members who want to stay in touch and other supporters who believe in the value of music and would like a way to be involved in our work with young musicians.

Learning a musical instrument and playing in ensembles is a great activity for children, promoting social skills, concentration, commitment and a lifelong appreciation of music.

Supported by the Derbyshire City and County Music Partnership, the Trust is committed to giving young musicians the best opportunity to develop themselves through music, to achieve high standards of performance and to enjoy the lasting friendships that are born out of playing together.

We don’t put a price on friendship!

We value your support simply by becoming a Friend and showing that you care about the future of live music. However as a Friend you may want to help in some practical way, maybe running an imaginative fundraising event, making Christmas Cards for sale or even a simple donation in aid of the Trust. Every penny helps us to extend our library of music, improve our equipment and run special projects.

As a Friend you will receive an annual newsletter keeping you up to date with our latest projects and events, the aspirations and successes of our musicians. With your permission your name will be listed as a Friend on our programmes and website … and it would be great to see you at our concerts so you can hear the next generation of young players enjoying performing for you.

The Friends of Dark Peak Music Trust was launched by Tim Reynish on 9th December 2012 at the Winter Concert at Glossop Parish Church.
