Annual Gala Concert at the Octagon

Writer: Dark Peak MusicDark Peak Music

Updated: Mar 5

Our annual Gala concert at the Octagon in Buxton is one of the main events of the Dark Peak calendar, featuring all the ensembles in one spectacular performance.

The concert showcases all our musicians from the youngest, some of whom will be making their debut in their first proper concert, through to advanced groups including the national award-winning Dark Peak Concert Band.

This year's Octagon Concert features our new Samba Band under director Laszlo Palko performing an Afro-Brazilian piece for percussion.

It also includes Mussorgsky's spectacular musical adventure "Night on a Bare Mountain" and Malcolm Arnold's delightful set of musical picture postcards the "Scottish Dances".
