Dark Peak Music Foundation

…. a bright musical future

Learning music through movement and song for children aged 6-9

Dalcroze is a fun and interactive, creative and highly effective method of music education based around movement. Children learn together through musical games, movement and singing to develop their understanding of all the elements of music. The classes provide an excellent foundation for children who have either started or are intending to start learning a musical instrument, giving them a thorough understanding of pitch, pulse, rhythm, notation and expressive elements of music. Most importantly it is fun and interactive for all the children!

The classes are run by Emma Dixon who, as well as being our Director of Strings, is a fully qualified of Dalcroze and Kodaly teacher.

Dalcroze Sessions are held at St Luke’s Primary School, Glossop

Tuesdays 5.30-6.30

Open to children age 6-9

The course costs £80 for the year which entitles families to full membership of the Dark Peak Music Foundation, including participating in all junior level ensembles.
